Look for book reviews on Emerging Markets Blog – starting in the next few days.
I will provide short, no-nonsense reviews that summarize the book’s objectives, list the most important takeaways, and offer up suggestions on what was lacking.
I’ll also be covering tomes that are not purely about emerging markets, but address relevant themes. Innovation is one such topic. Much of the growth in emerging markets owes not only to duplication of Western models, but also to innovation.
First up will be Antoine van Agtmael’s Emerging Markets Century (2007). Van Agtmael was the investor who coined the term “emerging markets” in the 1980s. This is a must-read about the rise of emerging market corporations, so be sure to come back!
